Nick’s ‘Kids Choice Awards’ Draws 5.8 Million Viewers

Nickelodeon’s March 24 Kids Choice Awards was the top show pick for kids and tweens last week, but it couldn’t match its viewer total from last year.

The special, hosted by actor Josh Duhamel, averaged 5.8 million viewers Saturday night, below the  6.16 million viewers the awards show drew last year, according to Nielsen. The Kids Choice Awards was the top telecast during the week of March 18 to March 24 with kids 2-11(2.7 million viewers), kids 6-11 (2 million) and tweens 9 to 14 (1.9 million), according to Nickelodeon.

Nickelodeon topped all cable networks on a total day basis, averaging 2 million viewers. USA was second with 1.7 million viewers followed by Disney Channel with 1.6 million watchers.

USA Network was the most watched network in primetime last week with 3.3 million viewers, followed by History’s 2.9 million viewers and TBS’s 2.4 million watchers. Disney Channel and TNT tied for fourth place with 2.2 million viewers.

History continued to ride the ratings strength of its mini-series The Bible to lead all cable networks in primetime among adult 25-54 viewers, while TBS was the top pick among adult 18-34 and adults 25-54, according to Nielsen.
