Nickelodeon drew the lion’s share of cable’s Daytime Emmy Nominations announced Tuesday afternoon by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
The kids’ targeted network drew 18 Daytime Emmy nominations, followed by and Discovery Family Channel’s 12 nominations. CBS outpaced all networks with 62 nominations, followed by PBS (50) and syndicated programming (50).
OTT services were well represented, with Netflix generating 13 nominations – seven for Star Wars: The Clone Wars – and Amazon Instant Video pulling seven nominations, according to NATAS.
ABC’s daytime soap opera General Hospital drew 28 nominations – the most of any television or web-based show -- followed by CBS’ The Young And The Restless. Discovery Family Channel’s R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour The Series drew the most nominations for a cable show with six.
The winners of the 42 annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be announced during an April 26 ceremony televised live by POP network.
