Nielsen Media Research is coming out with a new CD, called 'The Total
Viewing Sources CD,' and targeting a fall-2003 start.
That CD will offer two sets of numbers -- Nielsen's total DMA household
ratings estimates and estimates for the wired-cable households (excluding
direct-broadcast satellite numbers).
'Agencies that get
the CD will have the ability to look at cable and broadcast at
the same time on the same computer screen,' spokeswoman Karen Kratz said.
But she denied that Nielsen is 'reformatting' its local ratings books.
She emphasized, 'There will be no changes' to estimates
published in its regular printed local ratings reports.
