Univision executives are eagerly anticipating the ninth season of Sunday early-prime success Nuestra Belleza Latina, conducting a series of contestant auditions across the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
The auditions kicked off Sept. 5 in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, with a Southern California stop on Sept. 12 at Casino Morongo. Forthcoming stops include Hotel Chicago Downtown on Sept. 20, Intercontinental Doral Hotel near Miami on Sept. 27, Westin New York at Times Square on Oct. 4 and JW Marriott Hotel in Houston on Oct. 11.
All auditions are from 7 a.m. to noon local time.
Noted beauty pageant mentor Osmel Sousa, known as “The Beauty Czar,” returns as judge of both the auditions and show. Reigning season eight winner Aleyda Ortiz will also join the search committee. Special guests will also join Sousa and Ortiz at each audition site; the network did not disclose who these individuals are.
Following the auditions, the select group of contestants will move on to the series, set to air in early 2015. Each contestant will compete as one of 12 finalists hoping to be crowned as the season nine winner.
Participants must be women ages 18 to 28 on the audition day who speak Spanish fluently and, if chosen as a finalist, must be able to reside in Miami during the length of the participation in the show.
