Nurse Jackie will continue to make her rounds at Showtime.
The premium network has renewed Nurse Jackie for a fifth season. The new campaign, a co-production of Showtime and Lionsgate, will begin production in late 2012.
The Edie Falco comedy has also named former Dexter executive producer/showrunner Clyde Phillips, replacing co-creators Linda Wallem and Liz Brixius, who departed after the series wrapped production on its current fourth season. Phillips will also executive-produce alongside Richie Jackson and Caryn Mandabach.
Nurse Jackie's fourth-season premiere drew 1.1 million viewers on April 8, up 30% over its third-season debut. Thus far, it is averaging 2.77 million total weekly viewers across all platforms, according to Showtime officials
