NUVOtv Sells Reality Shows to Off the Fence

Dutch Distributor Looks to Boost Latin Presence

Off the Fence, an Amsterdam-based producer and distributor of reality programming, said it has acquired several titles from NUVOtv, the English-language cable network targeting young Latinos.

The deal, terms of which were not disclosed, includes one or more seasons of some of NUVOtv’s original reality series: 7 of Clubs, Adrenalina, Dating Factory, Model Latina, Curvy Girls and Mario Lopez One on One.

Off the Fence acquired all worldwide distribution rights to NUVOtv’s existing catalog, including digital media, Internet/online and mobile rights, the companies said.

For OTF, the purchase is part of the company’s strategy to provide broadcasters with alternative programming targeting Latinos.

“Broadcasters are already requesting Latino-themed programming to maximize advertising spend expected around the upcoming sports events in Brazil,” On the Fence managing director of distribution Bo Stehmeier said, referencing the 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2016 Summer Olympics. “We are delighted to be able to offer perfectly matched unique content and look forward to a dynamic and successful partnership with NUVOtv.”

OTF has recently expanded its North American presence by opening a production facility in Los Angeles.
