Studio City, Calif. -- Odyssey, A Hallmark & Henson
Network will gain 450,000 subscribers by the end of 2000 through a deal with Time Warner
Cable in Milwaukee, officials said last Tuesday.
As part of a rollout that will start this summer, by the
end of this year, 250,000 subscribers in the city will get Odyssey. The rest of the
200,000 homes will have the network by the end of 2000.
Starting this fall, Odyssey will debut new and original
series produced exclusively for the network by Hallmark Entertainment and Odyssey
In October, the network will premiere its first original
made-for-TV movie, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, produced by Hallmark.
"This will be one more reason for our families to feel
comfortable about becoming Time Warner customers," Thomas Sharrard, president of Time
Warner's Milwaukee division, said in a prepared statement.
"Adding Odyssey to our already outstanding family
lineup will give our viewers an unprecedented number of quality alternative viewing
choices," Sharrard added.
