College Sports Television has landed a potential No. 1 National Basketball Association draft pick.
College basketball’s 2004 National Player of the Year, Emeka Okafor, who led the University of Connecticut to the 2004 national championship, inked a multiyear marketing and promotional agreement with the network.
The Okafor deal marks the first time CSTV has entered into a formal marketing partnership with an athlete.
“Emeka epitomizes the true student-athlete -- a person who tirelessly pursues success in the classroom, as well as on the playing field,” CSTV CEO Brian Bedol said in a prepared statement.
