Outdoor Life Network announced Tuesday that it has signed Ford Motor Co.'s
Lincoln as the chief automotive sponsor of its exclusive coverage of cycling's
Triple Crown -- the Tour de France, Giro d'Italia and Vuelta Ciclista a
All told, the programmer will carry 36 hours of commercial-free coverage of
those cycling events. The schedule includes two live ad-free half-hours per week
for each of the three-week races and three encore presentations per day.
Lincoln will be the exclusive auto sponsor for OLN's Tour de France July 6
through 28. It is also the domestic auto advertiser for OLN's coverage of Giro
d'Italia, which commenced May 11 and runs through June 2, and for Vuelta a
España, slated from Sept. 7 through 29.
Lincoln's logo and sponsorship mentions will appear on the network's on-air
promotion spots and tune-in print campaigns for each racing event, as well as on
OLN Digital Radio (carried on Sirius Satellite Radio).
In addition, the automaker will sponsor the 'Tour de France Sweepstakes,' the
grand prize of which will be a trip for two to Paris.
