San Francisco -- The first two of Outdoor Life Network’s three free video-on-demand services, Hooks & Bullets and Hazardous, will begin rolling out April 7 in 10 million homes in more than 100 markets around the country.
The networks focus on different categories of programming and content includes programming from OLN’s vast library, as well as exclusive programming related to the network’s originals and best-in-class events.
“OLN’s on-demand offerings provide Charter customers with compelling content at the touch of a button,” said Jim Heneghan, senior VP of marketing and advertising sales for Charter Communications in Denver.
OLN will leverage the networks to create packaged stunts, like premiering a show or series before it appears on the linear network or creating unique content around the network’s events.
For example, in 2004 OLN offered a daily half-hour highlight show of the Tour de France that was available to VOD affiliates. Similar programs will be introduced surrounding several of OLN’s events like the Tour de France and the Gravity Games.
For customers who crave action and adventure, Hazardous offers the most intense programming in OLN’s library, plus exclusive programming from events and original productions, from BMX, wakeboarding and adventure racing to skiing, paintball and military competition.
Hooks & Bullets offers the best field sports programming from the OLN library plus new, exclusive content created especially for the VOD service.
MSOs participating in the roll out include Comcast Corp., Charter, Advanced, Blue Ridge, RCN Corp. and Click.
OLN is launching a third network in the fourth quarter that will focus specifically on HD content.
