Outdoor Life Network has secured syndication rights to Survivor, according to sources.
Comcast Corp.-owned OLN -- best-known for its coverage of the Tour de France cycling race -- could announce an agreement for the Mark Burnett reality-genre stalwart as soon as this week, according to sources familiar with the show.
The addition of Survivor -- the competition show that recently completed its 10th season on CBS -- is viewed as a move to broaden OLN’s viewer base well beyond those who tune in to see bull riding, skiing and other recreational and alternative sports.
It could also represent a major breakthrough for the reality genre within the syndication market.
OLN executives declined to comment.
