OMD Taps Thompson

Dan Rank's departure from Omnicom Group Inc.'s OMD USA has triggered a chain
reaction.

OMD USA chief strategy officer Page Thompson will assume his duties as OMD
North America CEO.

Rank, who left OMD USA as managing director of broadcast TV, will join
Universal Television & Networks Group as Chicago-based executive vice
president of ad sales.

OMD West managing director Monica Karo will, in turn, succeed Thompson by
adding the chief strategy officer title.

Thompson -- whose 28-year advertising career includes stints at DDB
Worldwide, Needham Harper, McCaffrey & McCall and J. Walter Thompson Co.
(where he began in 1974) -- reports to OMD Worldwide CEO Joe Uva.

One year ago, Uva made a career move in the opposite direction -- joining the
buying side from an executive position at Turner Broadcasting Sales
Inc.
