One America News Network Secures Carriage with GVTC

Herring Networks has reached an affiliate deal with Texas provider GVTC Communications for its news channel.

Under the pact, One America News Network will soon launch on GVTC systems on channel 50 in standard-definition and on high-definition channel 550.

GVTC serves a 2,000-mile region in the Lone Star State, covering areas in and around Boerne, Bulverde, Canyon Lake, Gonzales and sections of north San Antonio.

"We're thrilled to give our customers more news choices by adding One America News Network to our channel lineup," said GVTC CEO Richie Sorrells. "One America is devoted to providing a credible source for national and international news around the clock."

"We're extremely pleased for the support extended by GVTC Communications in making One America News Network available to its customers and we're grateful for the broad distribution and the channel placement," noted Ann Schick, executive vice president of affiliate relations.  "GVTC customers will be able to easily find our news channel and we're confident that our programming lineup of national and international news, interactive talk shows, and current affairs programs will resonate well with GVTC customers."

One America News Network, a sister service to Herring’s A Wealth of Entertainment channel, also has affiliate pacts with AT&T U-verse, Verizon FiOS, Charter Communications and Century Link among other providers.

Launched on July 4, 2013, One America provides domestic and international news on a 24/7 basis.  In addition to external newsgathering sources, the network operates news bureaus in Washington, D.C. and California.
