Independent Oregon operator Willamette Broadband replaced Microsoft Corp.’s interactive program guide with Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc.’s new “I-Guide.”

Willamette is also replacing Tribune Media Corp.’s “Zap2It” passive, scrolling channel guide with TV Guide Channel.

The IPG switch came after Microsoft decided to stop supporting its stand-alone IPG, only allowing operators to deploy the IPG as part of its broader “Microsoft TV Foundation” interactive platform, a source said.

Willamette rolled out Microsoft’s IPG in 2003.
