OpenTV’s Head of Marketing Resigns

Tim Evard, senior vice president and general manager of marketing and applications products at OpenTV, resigned effective Jan. 31, the interactive-TV company disclosed in a regulatory filing Friday.

VP of worldwide communications Barbara Cassidy said Evard moved to Florida “and is pursuing opportunities there.” OpenTV is based in San Francisco.

Before joining OpenTV in December 2004, Evard had been president and CEO at Broadband iTV and, prior to that, president of Time Warner Cable’s Road Runner broadband service.

In October, John Malone’s Liberty Media sold voting control of OpenTV to Kudelski Group, a Swiss software company.
