Miami -- Two men face charges of up to 750 counts of cable
and film piracy after three South Florida cable operators, state and local law enforcement
and the Motion Picture Association of America raided a beeper business here Sept. 2.
Officials confiscated thousands of converters, computer
chips and bootlegs of first-run movies when they searched E&A Beepers & Cellular
Inc. Authorities said the arrest of George Lee and Arturo Morales was the largest of its
kind in South Florida, and it culminated a year-and-a-half of investigation by
Tele-Communications Inc., MediaOne and Adelphia Communications Corp.
The two suspects have not yet been arraigned.
