World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. Monday announced that several operators will offer exclusive broadband content promoting its WWE 24/7 subscription-video-on-demand service.
WWE said the monthly promotional content -- which will be carried by systems owned by Cox Communications Inc., Blue Ridge Communications, Shrewsbury Electric and Cable Communications and Click! Network -- is largely video-centric and features a series of gamelike activities.
“Across the entire company -- from pay-per-view and WrestleMania to SVOD and broadband -- WWE is committed to helping our affiliates succeed, grow the VOD digital platform as destination viewing and reach their other key goals, like high-speed," vice president of affiliate sales Peter Clifford said in a prepared statement.
"We've seen tremendous success by offering these types of trivia games on WWE.com [www.wwe.com],” he added. “We know our WWE fans will seek out this killer exclusive sports-entertainment content on the Web and spread the word to others, particularly online."
