Optinel Systems Inc. said Time Warner Cable’s Cincinnati division is rolling out its Plexis MFX transport platform along with its Crystal network-management system.
Optinel said Plexis can support up to 80,000 video streams per fiber over 500 kilometers. The platform includes multiple transceiver, transmitter and receiver formats and can scale from 1 Gigabit to 10 Gb.
Motorola Inc. said Hood Canal Communications, an independent phone company in Washington state, will use Motorola’s optical line terminals for a fiber-to-the-premises rollout.
And Net2Phone Inc. signed a deal with Cable & Wireless Cayman Ltd. in the Cayman Islands to provide voice-over-Internet protocol services.
