Outdoor Channel is turning up the heat with 10 new series that are part of its new third-quarter programming schedule.
Featuring a host of celebrities from the realms of sports, entertainment and music, the new series join new installments from 73 returning shows as the network bolsters its content in the high-definition format.
Firing on June 29 at 10:30 p.m. (ET) MidwayUSA's Gun Stories is hosted by actor Joe Mantegna and will provide viewers with a history of firearms.
Outdoor Channel will end June with newcomer Realtree's NASCAR Outdoors, showcasing the stock car sports's well-known drivers who like to hunt, notably Dale Earnhardt Jr., Martin Truex Jr., Ryan Newman, Jeff Hammond, Clint Bowyer, Richard Childress, Ty Dillon, Bobby Labonte and Elliott Sadler. The show bows on June 30, the same day the network becomes the exclusive home to Realtree Outdoors, during which hosts Bill and Tyler Jordan and David Blanton take celebrity-hunters, like comedian Jeff Foxworthy, on trips after big game.
July 2 also features a new network tandem with ScentBlocker Most Wanted, providing outdoorsmen and outdoorswoman Lauren Thomas with access to the latest technology in the form of infrared cameras and other equipment as they track big game across North America. For its part, Team Elk, presented by the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, follows a group of hunters tracking in Colorado, Kentucky, New Mexico, Montana and elsewhere.
On the day before the Fourth of July, outdoorsman can be thankful for the arrival of Grateful Nation and Headhunters TV. The former goes behind the scenes and into the hunting fields with America's disabled veterans. The latter is the show behind the shows as hosts Randy Birdsong and Troy Ruiz set out to inform viewers about what happens as Outdoor Channel films its top programming.
These series join Mudslingers Presented by Sta-Bil, Shawn Michaels' MacMillan River Adventures, Primitive Instinct and Moltrie's The Hit List , which have already premiered this week.
"Season after season, Outdoor Channel continues to add the top names in entertainment to our programming roster. From television and country music stars to racing and wrestling legends, these celebrities have proven that the outdoor lifestyle attracts people of all walks of life and demonstrates Outdoor Channel's mass-appeal," said Tom Hornish, COO, Outdoor Channel, in a statement. "We look forward to bringing our newly bolstered lineup, available in 100% high-definition, to the anglers, hunters and outdoorsmen all across the U.S. this summer."
