Outdoor Channel Explores Options

Temecula, Calif.-Global Outdoors Inc., parent of The Outdoor Channel, said last Friday it was "exploring strategic alternatives," including a "strategic investment or equity financing."

"The Outdoor Channel is under no financial pressure to seek outside funding to maintain our present level of operations," network chairman Perry Massie said in a statement. He added that there is a "substantial cash reserve in the bank and no significant debt."

Outdoor Channel, which competes with MSO-backed Outdoor Life Network, counts about 20 million homes.
