Outdoor Channel Roams With Verizon Wireless

Outdoor Channel is taking its hunting and fishing video on the go in a deal to bring full episodes to Verizon Wireless's $10-per-month video subscription package.

The programmer will provide full episodes from several of its series through the mobile carrier's Verizon Video and V Cast Video apps, including: Hunt Masters, Jim Shockey's Hunting Adventures, Jim Zumbo Outdoors, Primos Truth About Hunting, Shooting Gallery, Shooting USA, The Crush with Lee & Tiffany and Ultimate Match Fishing: All-Stars.

The Verizon Video app is now available to download from Android Market on select 4G LTE and 3G smartphones as well as under the V Cast Video brand on other handsets. Verizon Video costs $10 per month or $3 for a 24-hour period; a data package also is required. Content includes current TV episodes, live streaming of sporting and news events.

"Wireless technology continues to become more integrated into our daily lives and avid Outdoor Channel fans expect to replicate their home viewing experience on the go," Outdoor Channel executive vice president of affiliate sales and marketing Randy Brown said in a statement. "We are excited to expand our existing Verizon relationship to provide our content to viewers exactly when they want it."

Verizon Wireless, which has 89.7 million retail customers, is a joint venture of Verizon Communications and Vodafone.
