Ovation Delivering On Demand Fare to Comcast Markets

Ovation has launched its video on demand service on various Comcast systems across the country.
The arts proponent's VOD offerings are now available on Comcast's Xfinity On Demand platform in such top markets as Philadelphia, Boston, San Francisco, Atlanta and Detroit. The recent rollouts lift the reach of Ovation On Demand, which features behind-the-scenes interviews, specials and series, to more than 25 million U.S. households, just under half of its 51 million linear subscriber base.
Ovation On Demand is now available in the "Life & Home" section of Comcast's Xfinity On Demand service, with additional series included in the "TV Series" category.

Among the Ovation fare that is available via VOD: exclusive interview segments filmed during the Ovation-sponsored Film Independent Film Series at Los Angeles County Museum of Art with actors George Clooney, Beau Bridges, Seth Rogen, Joseph Gordon-Leavitt, and Anna Kendrick; recent Academy Award-winner, director Alexander Payne; screenwriter Will Reiser; screenwriter/director Quentin Tarantino; and director/producer/screenwriter/actor Werner Herzog. Moreover, Xfinity customers can also access such documentaries as Jay-Z: An Unauthorized Biography, The Search for Robert Johnson, Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison, Icons: Madonna, Behind the Label: Zac Posen and Behind the Label: Diane Von Furstenberg. The network's original series In Search of Food and its telefilm, We'll Take Manhattan are also accessible through the platform.

"At Ovation, we consider video on demand to be an important aspect of our overall content offering that provides unique opportunities for branding, audience building, and distributor partnership opportunities," said Brad Samuels, executive vice president of content distribution, in a statement. "Ovation has dramatically increased our VOD channel's distribution and along with that growth, we have expanded the breadth of our content choices available to viewers as well. Now, there are even more exclusive extras, original series and movies, and behind-the-scenes clips than ever before. We think Xfinity TV customers will love all the artful choices they now have with Ovation On Demand."
