OWN Inks Giant P&G Advertising Deal

OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network has scored a big deal, inking a multiyear deal worth some $100 million with packaged goods giant Procter & Gamble Co.
The pact, according to a story in The Wall Street Journal, covers both inventory on the network, which is set to bow on Jan. 1, 2011, as well as product integration aspects.
"This is an example of how P&G is always looking for mutually beneficial ways to work with our partners," said a spokeswoman for the consumer-products company, declining to comment on deal specifics.
"This is a terrific partnership, bringing together two powerful brands with a common goal to serve the viewer," Kathleen Kayse, OWN's executive vice president of ad sales, said in a statement.
