OWN To Launch Final Season Of `Our America With Lisa Ling’

The Oprah Winfrey Network will launch the fourth and final season of its news/documentary series Our America with Lisa Ling on May 29, according to network officials.

The series, one of the first to launch on the three year-old OWN, will feature 10 one-hour episodes during its final season. Ling, who also serves as producer for the show, is moving on to work on other projects, according to sources close to the network.

“It has been an honor to be part of the launch and success of OWN and I am exceptionally grateful to the network and to Oprah for allowing me to produce the show of my dreams,” Ling in a statement.  “I have never been more proud of anything I've ever done in my career and hope that our shows have enriched people and provoked them to think differently and with compassion about those who inhabit Our America.”

Subjects the series will tackle in its final season include gun violence in Philadelphia, ADHD in American families, the largest foster care system in the country, criminal informants, the HIV epidemic in the African American community and the emotional story of a woman held captive for months.
