Oxygen Has An 'Addiction' to Beauty

Oxygen Friday announced the latest addition to its programming lineup, a docu-series called Addicted to Beauty that will “reveal all in the world of medi-spas,” network officials said.

Addicted to Beauty is scheduled for eight, one-hour episodes beginning sometime in 2009. It will take viewers inside one of the country’s “hottest beauty enhancement facilities” in California, examining the “young and attractive who seek out spray tans and hits of Botox as well as the very wealthy who are looking for tummy tucks and boob job,” network officials said.

The original series will join previously announced Dance Your Ass Off as the network ramps up its original slate of programming. Addicted to Beauty and Dance Your Ass Off are the first two series from the new development team led by Amy Introcaso-Davis, Oxygen’s senior vice president of original programming and development.

“Obsession with beauty is addictive to watch and Addicted to Beauty gives our audience a vicarious glimpse into that fascinating world," Introcaso-Davis said in a statement.

The series is executive produced by Chris Coelen, Greg Goldman, and Mike Duffy for RDF (Secret Millionaire, Wife Swap), Mechelle Collins and Kevin Dill (Millionaire Matchmaker, Sunset Tan) and Scott Dunlop (Real Housewives of Orange County).
