Oxygen’s Jan. 19 original movie Husband For Hire set a network ratings record for an original movie premiere.
The romantic comedy, in which Nadine Velazquez (My Name is Earl) portrays a beautiful business woman who gets more than she bargained for after hiring a stranger (Mark Consuelos) as her groom, averaged 1.1 million viewers during its 8 p.m. premiere. The show bested the previous high of 730,000 viewers for the Dec. 3, 2005 debut of original flick Romancing The Bride.
The movie also performed well among key demos with 326,000 women 18 to 49 and 397,000 18-to-49 viewers tuning in.
An immediate encore of Husband also performed well, generating 783,000 total viewers.
Overall, the telefilm helped the distaff-targeted network record its most-watched day ever with total viewers (503,000) and the 18-to-49 (262,000) and women 18-to-49 (200,000) demos.
