Cox Communications Inc. is using technology and software from Padcom Inc. to help its field technicians with maintenance and installation issues.
Padcom said Cox purchased 10,000 “TotalRoam” licenses last year, and the MSO has deployed more than 3,000 active Padcom TotalRoam clients in its mobile-communications network.
Padcom said TotalRoam works within Cox’s wireless-data infrastructure to provide always-on, secure connections for mobile technicians. The MSO is using the application in San Diego; Macon, Ga.; Pensacola, Fla.; Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Okla.; and systems in northern Virginia and North Carolina.
