Parents Choose Nick … 18 Times

Fare from Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., Noggin and The N received 18 “Parents' Choice Awards,” the network said Tuesday.

The Parents' Choice Awards recognize the best products and programs for children of all ages, backgrounds, skills and interests, and they are presented to those that meet and exceed standards set by educators, scientists, performing artists, librarians, parents and kids themselves, according to the Parents’ Choice Foundation.

“We're thrilled to be recognized by such a reputable organization for our programming,” Nickelodeon Television president Cyma Zarghami said in a prepared statement. “At Nickelodeon, we are passionate about providing quality programming for kids of all ages, and it's great to be awarded by an organization that shares our belief in putting kids first.”

Nick’s winners were:

• Nick: The Wild Thornberrys, As Told by Ginger, Nick News with Linda Ellerbee: Keeping Faith: Muslim Kids in America, Nick News with Linda Ellerbee: Living with AIDS: A Story of Three Kids, Nick News with Linda Ellerbee: Look Before You Eat, Nick News with Linda Ellerbee: What's Wrong with Me?, The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius: Win, Lose & Kaboom, Romeo!, Nick News with Linda Ellerbee: Rollin' Down the River: Kids Explore the Amazon, Rocket Power, The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius and All Grown Up.

• Nick Jr.: The Backyardigans, Dora the Explorer's “Dora's Fairytale Adventure," Blue's Clues "Bluestock" and Nick Jr. Baby Curious Buddies "Helping at Home.”

• Noggin: Connie the Cow.

• The N: I Sit Where I Want: The Legacy of Brown V. Board of Education.
