Paskowski Leaving as MCN Chief

New York -- Marianne Paskowski, Multichannel News’ editor in chief for just short of 15 years, is leaving the magazine on a full-time basis next month but will remain affiliated with it as a contributor and columnist, Variety Group president Charlie Koones announced Monday.

MCN and Variety Group are owned by Reed Business Information.

Paskowski and her husband, Bob Donath, have decided to relocate permanently to Cape Cod, Mass., from Westchester County, N.Y. They have had a second home near the shore in Massachusetts for the past six years. And Paskowski said a recent decision to sell her home in White Plains, N.Y. was a big success.

“I’m a greedy capitalistic pig,” she said in an interview Monday, in which she also described the WestchesterCounty real estate market as overheated. “The system works,” she added.

Koones said in an internal announcement that he accepted the resignation “with very mixed emotions” because the company is “losing a strong editor and a leader within RBI,” but, “at the same time, I am happy for Marianne as she heads out on her next chapter.”

Her last day on the job full-time will be July 15.
