PBS Kids Sprout Names Top Execs

PBS Kids Sprout Tuesday named its president and senior vice president of programming.

Sandy Wax has joined the joint venture of Comcast Corp., Sesame Workshop, HITS Entertainment and PBS Kids as president. She had been senior VP, SOAPnet program planning, scheduling and acquisitions.

And Andrew Beecham has joined PBS Kids Sprout as senior VP of programming. He had been senior VP of programming investments for HITS.

The network also announced that Diana Kerekes, VP and general counsel of content development for Comcast, will join its board after serving as acting general manager during the network’s development and launch.

PBS Kids Sprout debuted in some 16.5 million homes in September through carriage deals with Comcast, DirecTV Inc., Insight Communications Co. Inc., Wave Broadband, Blue Ridge Communications and RCN Corp., among others.
