CHARTER

RIch DiGeronimo was upped to executive vice president, product and strategy at Charter Communications. He had been SVP, product and strategy since 2011.

COMCAST

Wendy Liu was named vice president of customer experience for Comcast’s Greater Chicago Region, a newly created post. She had been the region’s director of project management.

CNN

Petra Malenicka was promoted to senior vice president, advertising sales, Europe and the Americas at CNN International. She had led the network’s advertising sales efforts in Western Europe.

DISCOVERY

Discovery Communications has tapped Thierry Augustin as president, sports strategy and development, Discovery Networks International. He had been CEO of Discovery-owned pan-European network Eurosport.

Also, Peter Hutton was tapped to succeed Augustin as CEO of Eurosport. He comes from MP & Silva Group, where he was co-CEO.

EASTERN

Simon McKeown has joined producer Eastern as senior vice president, development. He comes from U.K. producer Nutopia, where he was head of development.

Also, the company has promoted Jillian Brand and Gregg Lieberman to vice president, development; and Lisa LeeKing to vice president, casting.

NAT GEO CHANNELS

Brenda Freeman has joined National Geographic Channels as chief marketing officer, National Geographic Channel and Nat Geo Wild. She comes f rom DreamWorks Animation, where she was global head of television marketing.

SIMULMEDIA

Targeted-TV firm Simulmedia has promoted both Nick Donahue and Lauren Fry to senior account executive from account executive.

VUBIQUITY

Premium content services provider Vubiquity has appointed Nick Ruczaj as senior vice president, commercial, for EMEA and APAC. He had led the company’s business-development efforts in emerging markets.

Also, Vubiquity has tapped Jose Antonio Hidalgo as vice president, Latin America, based in Los Angeles.

WINDSTREAM

Windstream Communications in Little Rock, Ark., has named Lewis Langston as its chief information officer. Most recently a consultant, he had served as CIO of Allied Wireless until its 2013 acquistion by AT&T.

Also, Matt Dement was tapped as senior vice president of strategy, corporate development and financial planning and analysis at Windstream. He comes from investment bank Stephens Inc., where he was a senior VP in the communications and media group.
