People en Espanol
is ready to join other Time Inc. publications when it launches on the iPad,
Nook Color and Kindle Fire on Dec. 30, the company has confirmed.
The launch makes People
en Espanol the first Spanish-language magazine designed for tablets.
As is the case with the publisher's other titles, print
subscribers of People en Español will
be able to access the electronic editions for free, instead of paying $4.99 per
digital issue. Advertisers will be the same as in the print edition, unless
they decided to opt out.
People en Español is
the latest Time Inc. publication to join the iPad frenzy. In May, the company
reached a deal with Apple to make all its iPad editions free for print
subscribers, allowing subscribers of Sports
Illustrated, Time and Fortune access to the iPad editions.
Before that, readers of those publications had to pay
separately for the iPad version regardless of their subscription status.
