Perry's 'Pledge' Premiere Highlights Hallmark’s Western July

If you like your movies filled with pistols, hats with wide brims and tumbleweeds, then dial in Hallmark Channel in July.

The family-friendly network is celebrating the western genre with a film every night at 9 p.m., a July schedule highlighted by a pair of original films and a genre marathon on Fourth of July weekend.

Luke Perry stars in original telefilm, A Gunfighter’s Pledge on July 5 from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. The actor, perhaps best known for his brooding rich boy turn on Aaron Spelling’s 90210, plays a lawman, who was supposed to be headed to retirement, but a villain he previously arrested has other ideas.

A Gunfighter’s Pledge is centerpiece of Saturday’s worth of sheriffs and sasparilla that also features The Magnificent Seven Ride (10a.m.), Guns of the Magnificent Seven (noon), Seraphim Falls (2:30 p.m.), The Long Riders (5 p.m. and 11 p.m.) and the Avenging Angel (7 p.m.).

Next Saturday July 12, Hallmark will showcase another original western, Every Second Counts, starring Stephen Collins (7th Heaven).
