Court TV’s ratings received a boost Wednesday with the Scott Peterson sentencing and the Robert Blake verdict.
The network’s daytime Nielsen Media Research rating was a 0.9, behind only Fox News Channel among cable news networks, on the day when Peterson was sentenced to death in the murder of his wife and unborn child.
Then at 5 p.m., Catherine Crier Live posted a 1.2 household rating, or 1.2 million total viewers, marking the second-best rating ever for the show. Court TV said Crier's performance was second-best among cable news networks and greater than that of Cable News Network and MSNBC's combined.
From 6 p.m.-7 p.m., Court TV was live in the courtroom when Blake was found not guilty of murdering his wife, and its coverage earned a 1.1 household rating and 1 million total viewers, again trailing only Fox News.
