The Aug. 12 debut of Pedro Martinez for the Philadelphia Phillies in their 12-5 victory over the Chicago Cubs helped the regional sports network set a new ratings mark.. Comcast SportsNet notched an 11.1 rating last night, equating to 330,000 households in the Philadelpha DMA, according to Nielsen Media Research data.
The game, featuring the season debut of the recently acquired three-time, Cy Young Award-winner Martinez, peaked with a 13.3 rating, 395,000 households in the 9:15 p.m. quarter hour.
The game was the most-watched program on television in the Philadelphia market during its timeslot, according to officials at the RSN.
The record-setting rating lifts the Phillies' season-long average on Comcast SportsNet to a 6.6 rating, 196,000 households, a 25% gain over the same stage of the last season.
