Piper to Ply New Frontier

Scott Piper was named chief information officer at motion-picture-entertainment company New Frontier Media.

He will be responsible for working with distribution partners to exploit new technologies, as well as overseeing the company's computing and data infrastructure, including digital broadcast and video-on-demand distribution systems.

Piper comes from EchoStar Communications, where he held a variety of positions. As EchoStar CIO, he oversaw 300 employees and 185 locations. Most recently, he was the executive in charge of launching EchoStar’s broadband entertainment portal, DishOnline.

“Scott's value to New Frontier Media goes well beyond his ability to manage our technology infrastructure,” CEO Michael Weiner said in a prepared statement. “Scott's fluency with distributor customer-relationship systems, billing systems and set-top-box technology will improve New Frontier Media's overall level of service to its partners almost immediately.”
