Turner Sports Tuesday named former Goodwill Games president Michael Plant
executive vice president.

Plant, who will report to Turner Sports president Mark Lazarus, will oversee
several aspects of Turner Sports' operations, including accounting and other
day-to-day logistical operations of the division, company executives said.

Lazarus will continue to oversee the production, programming and marketing of
the division.

Plant served as Goodwill Games president since 1995, but he lost the position
when AOL Time Warner Inc. decided last December not to continue with the
money-losing, international, multisport competition.

'As our business becomes more complex and we continue to add high-profile
sports properties to our portfolio, it becomes necessary to increase our
senior-management presence both internally and externally,' Lazarus said in a
prepared statement.

'Mike's management expertise and leadership will help me to guide Turner
Sports into the future,' he added.
