Postman Pat Joins Qubo Lineup

Qubo, the all-kids digital network and NBC Saturday morning block, will debut its new fall programming Oct. 6, officials said Tuesday.

The 2007 fall season features new series and returning favorites with new episodes that emphasize Qubo’s mission of providing family-friendly content that encourages children’s literacy and imagination.

Qubo, a multi-platform entertainment destination for children, is a 24/7 digital multicast channel and Web site, www.qubo.com. It also broadcasts on NBC Saturday mornings, ION TV network Fridays afternoons and Telemundo weekend mornings.

Qubo’s new programming includes Postman Pat, which makes its U.S. network television debut on the network this fall. It is one of the top-rated shows airing in the United Kingdom on the BBC and CBeebies.

Qubo will also run My Friend Rabbit, a new series inspired by the popular book by Eric Rohmann. Produced by kids’ animation company Nelvana, the series focuses on the unique spirit and charm of Rohmann’s book as it lets young viewers into the world of Rabbit and his best friend, Mouse.

The new series join favorites Veggietales, Jane and the Dragon, 3-2-1 Penguins! and Dragon, which return with episodes that have yet to be seen on Qubo.

Qubo was formed in 2006 by an alliance that included ION Media Networks, Scholastic, NBC Universal, Corus Entertainment and Classic Media/Big Idea.
