POW! Cable Networks Storm ‘Comic-Con’

Cable fans will get a taste of this week's Comic-Con International Convention in San Diego
through live coverage from Spike TV and G4.

Content aggregator In Demand will also offer free on-demand
footage from the show,
which over the years has
evolved from a small, targeted
gathering for science-fiction
and comic-book geeks
to a multimedia extravaganza
expected to draw more than
130,000 people. At least 18 cable
networks are expected to
tout their new and popular
shows through various panel
sessions, talent signings and
other events during the fourday
confab, which runs July
12 to 15.

G4 will air six hours of
live Comic-Con coverage
beginning July 12 with a
one-hour special, X-Play
All Access: Comic-Con
followed by a one-hour show on July 13, Attack of the
Show! Attacks Comic-Con
. The network will round out
its live coverage with a four-hour special, Comic-Con
2012 Live

As part of its coverage, G4 will host such celebrities as
comic-book author Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead)
and actress Aisha Tyler (Archer), as well as the casts of
Adult Swim's NTSF:SD:SUV and Children's Hospital; AMC's The Walking Dead; HBO's Game of Thrones and True Blood;
Fox's Fringe and BBC America's Doctor Who.

Spike TV will offer three hours of live coverage from Comic-Con on July 13 beginning at 4 p.m. Comic-Con All Access Live
will cover the top panels from the show and host such genre
celebrities as Mark Hamill of Star Wars and Kevin Smith of
AMC's Comic Book Men, according to network officials.

Spike's most recent All Access was live from last month's Electronic Entertainment Expo, where it offered 11 hours of
coverage for the four-day conference known as E3.

In Demand will make its second straight appearance at
Comic-Con with a major "Movies on Demand" promotion that
will feature several consumer-targeted movie promotions and
press events, the company said. As part of its Comic-Con coverage,
In Demand will work directly with major studios and
indies to interview stars and is shooting footage from the convention
floor and sessions to offer on a VOD basis.

In addition, In Demand will offer operators a special Comic-
Con-themed movie collection featuring such films as Comic-
Con Episode IV: A Fan's Hope
, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance,
Iron Man 2 Superman Returns
and Star Trek (2009).
