`Precious' Actress Sidibe To Appear In Showtime Series

Academy Award nominee Gabourey Sidibe will have a recurring guest star role on Showtime's new dark comedy series The Big C.

Sidibe, who earned a 2010 Best Actress Oscar nomination for her role in Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire, guest appeared in the pilot episode of the series which stars Laura Linney as a repressed suburban wife and mother who reclaims her life after a terminal cancer diagnosis.

The Big C, created and written by Darlene Hunt, begins shooting its 13-episode freshman season in May for a late summer premiere, according to the network.
