Univision has finalized the array of stars set to appear at its 11th annual Premios Juventud, its awards show saluting the year’s favorite entertainers and music as selected by Hispanic youth.
The show will originate live from the University of Miami’s BankUnited Center on July 17, with a tape delay for the West Coast. An hour-long Red Carpet Arrival pre-show will air at 7 p.m., ahead of the three-hour broadcast.
Serving as hosts of this year’s broadcast are actor and Dancing With the Stars celebrity dancer Cristián de la Fuente; telenovela actress Ana Brenda Contreras, the protagonist in the 2013 production Corazón Indomable; regional Mexican singer/songwriter El Dasa; and Televisa morning show host Galilea Montijo. Jessica Cediel, social-media correspondent for Univision’s El Gordo y la Flaca, will serve in a similar role for the awards show.
Among the internationally known entertainers set to perform during this year’s Premios is Enrique Iglesias, who will receive the 2014 Supernova Award -- a special honor bestowed upon Hispanic personalities with distinguished, successful and far-reaching careers. Iglesias is also nominated for six awards.
Also set to perform at this year’s Premios Juventud: Disney Channel heartthrob Austin Mahone; Colombian Latin pop superstar Juanes; rising reggaetón star J Balvin; bachata headliners Prince Royce and Romeo Santos; and ubiquitous producer Pitbull.
Premios Juventud awards are given in 27 unique categories within five areas: music, movies, novelas, sports and pop culture. Winners are chosen through votes cast at www.PremiosJuventud.com.
