Preschoolers Find Clues ' Joe

Almost
2 million preschoolers tuned in to Nickelodeon to meet the new Blues Clues host Monday
night.

The 90-minute "Meet Joe"
episode attracted an average of 1.9 million kids two through five April 29 from
7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., making it the most-watched basic-cable show ever among the
preschool crowd, according to Nielsen Media Research data.

The show registered a 14.7
rating among that target group.

It
was also first on basic cable in its time period among households and total
viewers, earning a 3.3 rating and delivering 2.8 million households, a 65
percent gain over last year's like time period.

The
program attracted some 4.6 million persons two and older, a 100 percent lift
over the prior year's time period average.

And
the program stands as the highest-rated Nick Jr. primetime special ever,
outperforming the former record holder, Blue's Big Pajama Party Oct. 10, 1999,
by 16 percent, according to the network.

Donovan
Patton portrays Joe. Patton succeeds Steve Burns as the popular show's
host.

Future
Blue's Clues episodes featuring
Donovan will air in the show's 10 a.m. weekday time slot, while the older
installments with Burns will continue to air weekdays at 12:30
p.m.
