PrideNation Network to Become Proud TV

PrideNation Network will become Proud Television Network Sept. 15.

The 24-hour gay-targeted Internet-protocol-TV network and radio station also announced the availability on the day of the name change of a new set-top box that connects to any TV and does not interfere with existing cable or direct-broadcast satellite boxes.

And Proud TV will expand its availability to cellular-phone and wireless-personal-digital-assistant customers.

“We are extremely excited to be the gay channel on this new TV box," PNN president Allen Edwards said in a prepared statement. “We're in great company with other large networks that are channels in this box -- networks that are popular with the GLBT [gay, lesbian, bisexual, transsexual] community like BBC [America], Food Network, DIY [Do It Yourself], iFilm, A&E [Network] and many others.”

He added, “The great thing about this system is that the viewer is in total control of what to watch and when to watch it. The best part about it is that it's easy to connect. It's just like connecting a DVD player.”
