Q Television Network will be the TV home of Gay Games VII, to be held in Chicago July 15-22, 2006.
The network announced Friday that it has signed a letter of intent with organizer Chicago Games Inc. covering broadcast rights, joint development of Gay Games-related programming, broadcast airtime for advanced advertising and live and taped coverage of events.
Q will unscramble its signal during live coverage of the Gay Games, and the network will serve as the agent for the redistribution of television and radio broadcast rights.
“Q Television is all about 'community' and showing LGBT [lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual] life at its best and most uplifting,” executive vice president of programming Steven Grunberg said in a prepared statement.
“We are honored to be chosen as the home for the Games, and we will work hand-in-hand with Chicago's organizers to deliver one of the great LGBT events of the new millennium,” he added.
