Q TV Takes Pride

Gay service Q Television Network has signed a letter of intent to explore taking an equity investment in Canadian OutTV, which does business as PrideVision, and to pursue joint-programming initiatives with it, officials said Thursday.

Both networks have identified a number of areas of joint interest, including telecasting Canadian-produced live and acquired programming in the U.S., as well as branding and marketing opportunities.

Q TV officials said they are interested in PrideVision strictly for its family-life programming, not its “pornographic shows,” according to a press release.

“A relationship with Q Television Network could provide OutTV with the opportunity to share gay programming throughout the world,” OutTV CEO Bill Craig said in a prepared statement.
