Cable Veteran Walker To Market for MGM

Los Angeles — Metro-Goldwyn Mayer has hired cable veteran Faye Walker to serve as vice president, worldwide television marketing.

Most recently the head of marketing for The Tennis Channel, Walker in her new role will oversee the marketing of all MGM television programming worldwide, including cable, syndication, ad sales, video-on-demand initiatives and campaigns. She will also oversee the creation of collateral marketing materials in support of new TV programs and telefilms.

Among her current assignments, Walker is devising national and local campaigns for MGM’s new syndicated offerings of Reno 911! and Chappelle’s Show, which have been sold in the top three U.S. television markets, New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.

AMC, Maxwell House Reload 'Shootout’ Deal

New YorkAMC has signed a renewal sponsorship deal with Maxwell House for its Sunday-morning Hollywood insider series Sunday Morning Shootout.

For the second year running, Maxwell House’s Café Collections coffee brand will be featured on set, on the coffee mugs, aprons, menu board and the show’s box-office report. Other on-air elements include tagged tune-ins and a branded trivia bumper. The deal’s online presence encompasses a logo and a Web link on amctv.com.

The pact runs through the first and second quarters, covering nine installments of the series, now in its fifth season, according to president of Rainbow ad sales Arlene Manos.

Airing Sundays at 11 a.m. (ET/PT), Sunday Morning Shootout features Peter Guber and Peter Bart, editor in chief of Variety (sister publication to Multichannel News), discussing the creative and fiscal currency of Tinseltown as they are visited by A-list actors, directors and producers.
