CNN, Weinstein Promote 'Bobby’ Biopic

New York CNN Ad Sales is teaming with The Weinstein Co. to promote and develop a sweepstakes around upcoming feature film Bobby.

The sweepstakes will offer viewers a chance to win a grand-prize trip for two to Washington, D.C., including airfare and accommodations for three nights and four days; a $500 Visa Card; a White House tour; a Capitol tour; a Monuments by Moonlight tour; an Old Town Trolley Tour; and transportation to and from the airport.

The film — based on guests and staff at Los Angeles’ Ambassador Hotel, where Sen. Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated in June 1968 — stars Laurence Fishburne, William H. Macy, Helen Hunt, Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher, Harry Belafonte and Emilio Estevez, who also wrote and directed the picture.

Elsewhere, CNN Ad Sales and Century 21 Real Estate LLC announced Gregory Giles of Carmel, Ind., as the grand-prize winner of the Century 21 “Heat Up your Kitchen Sweepstakes,” awarding him with $10,000 toward a kitchen or home renovation. The sweepstakes, which garnered more entries than any other CNN advertiser-supported promotion to date with over 120,000 entries in just four weeks, also included a unique and exclusive, grassroots agent incentive.

WE, Fox 'Unwrap’ a Christmas Movie

New York Twentieth Century Fox and Regency Enterprises are promoting the upcoming theatrical Deck the Halls during WE’s new original series, Unwrapping Macy’s.

WE viewers had access to an exclusive sneak preview of the film and interviews with stars Danny DeVito and Mathew Broderick, during an Unwrapping Macy’s marathon Nov. 19 from 8 p.m.-midnight (EST). Deck the Halls bows in theaters Nov. 22.

NCC to Pinch Hit for SportsNet NY

New YorkNational Cable Communications will go to bat for SportsNet New York.

Rep firm NCC will handle the regional sports network’s national spot advertising and sponsorship business under terms of a pact announced last week.

NCC’s sports division — led by senior vice president of marketing and business development Andrew Capone and vice president of sports sales Joe Hockenjos — will lead the sales effort on behalf of SNY, which televises up to 125 New York Mets Major League Baseball games, as well as shows centering on the National Football League’s New York Jets.

Food Network Travels Well With Hilton

New York — “The Food Network Travel Package” is now available at 11 Hilton Hotels around the country under terms of a deal between the Scripps Networks-owned channel and the hospitality provider.

Guests at the 11 select Hilton locations can experiences of course-tasting menu created by the hotel’s executive chef and wine pairings, if they are of legal drinking age.

Upon check-in, guests will receive a Food Network welcome package including a Food Network tote, cookbook, restaurant guide and a Food Network DVD of their travel shows.”

Hilton Hotels senior vice president of brand marketing Jeff Diskin said in a statement: “Our goal is to anticipate the needs of our guests and to offer amenities and packages that reflect their interests and passions. This special package is one example of how we are doing that.”
