Style Remakes Lineup With 'Extreme Makeover’
Los Angeles —Style has acquired ABC’s Extreme Makeover for its summer schedule, with the reality show making its debut on the E! Entertainment Television spin-off on July 4.
Additional installments of the 55-episode series will air weeknights at 7 p.m. beginning the week of July 10.
Distributed by Buena Vista Television, Extreme Makeover features everyday people who undergo a series of cosmetic procedures and have their lives changed with the help of the “Extreme Team,” comprising cosmetic surgeons and dentists, stylists, nutritionists, trainers and fashion experts.
“Extreme Makeover will be a wonderful addition to Style’s robust summer schedule that includes series debuts of Instant Beauty Pageant and Try My Life and all-new episodes of original series How Do I Look?, Clean House and Whose Wedding Is It Anyway?,” Style executive vice president Salaam Coleman Smith said in a statement.
MTV Networks, Apple Set Cross-Net iTunes Deal
New York — The video iPod march continues:MTV Networks is making series fare from Spike TV, Nick at Nite, TV Land, Logo, MTV: Music Television and The N available on Apple Computer Inc.’s iTunes Music Store.
The programmer already has a lineup of video programs on the popular iTunes service, which distributes content to owners of computers and iPod portable media players. The new additions include new Spike action series Blade: The Series, MTV’s Viva La Bam and TV Land’s Sit Down Comedy with David Steinberg.
Elsewhere, USA Network and Lions Gate made installments of The Dead Zone available to the wireless service. Episodes of the fifth season, which debuted June 18, can be downloaded on Mondays, following their Sunday 10 p.m. premieres on the linear service.
USA added that by summer’s end, all 67 episodes from seasons 1 to 4 will be available on iTunes.
Scripps Serves Up An HD Food Feed
Knoxville, Tenn. — Food Network HD launched June 30, joining Home & Garden Television HD as Scripps Networks’ second HD service to launch in the past three months.
