TNT’s Halloween-night National Basketball Association opening-night doubleheader was a treat for the network.
The Turner Broadcasting System-owned service said its hoops doubleheader averaged a 1.7 Nielsen Media Research rating and 1.925 million households, up 38% and 41%, respectively, versus last season’s opening-night doubleheader. TNT added that it was the most-watched NBA opening night since the 2003-04 season.
“It is great to continue to build on the momentum we enjoyed from last year’s regular and postseason success,” Turner Sports president David Levy said in a prepared statement. “As we enter into our 23rd year of airing basketball on Turner, we will continue to try and provide the fans with a first-class presentation that focuses on the exciting product on the floor.”
