Qwest Communications International Inc. is shuttering its Qwest Digital Media
streaming and video-production unit March 1, putting two former big cable
executives -- CEO David Woodrow and marketer Doug Seserman -- out of work.
The unit, unrelated to Qwest's consumer digital-subscriber-line video
operations, lost funding from joint owners Qwest and Anshutz Corp.
Its Nashville, Tenn., and Washington, D.C., production facilities will
continue to operate, presumably until a buyer is found.
Woodrow, a former Cox Communications Inc. executive, reshaped the unit's
business plan to target corporate customers, but Qwest's debt woes and falling
stock price took precedence.
